Saving Lives in Libya: Ali’s Joyful Return

Look how big Ali is getting!

If you’ve followed us for a while, you might remember seeing Ali last November. When you first met him, it was several days after his heart surgery, and he was a very sick little boy. So sick, there were days we wondered if he’d survive.

But Ali did survive, and he continues to grow.

We’re in Libya right now—with your help, we’re providing more lifesaving heart surgeries for kids who have no other way getting the care they need.

Another bonus of being back: seeing kids from our previous trips here. It was SO good to run into Ali’s family in a hospital hallway this week! His parents are diligent about getting Ali in for a checkup every time our medical team is in town. His mom showed us a picture of Ali’s new baby sister on her phone. It was the kind of normal, beautiful visit you have with friends you haven’t seen for a few months.

You made that possible.

When you donated to help Ali get his lifesaving heart surgery last year, it wasn’t just a one-time impact. Your gift is transforming every single of Ali’s life.

You gave Ali’s dad the joy of seeing his son break into a HUGE smile every time he goes into his father’s arms.

You gave Ali’s mom the chance to watch her son grow into the spitting image of his father.

Every single day, in countless ways, your donation multiplies into new smiles and childhood milestones.

Ali’s family—they’re still so grateful for you!
