Ancient Minority Group, Fighting for Survival in Iraq

ABC TV (Australia) recently traveled to Sinjar in northern Iraq to tell the story of the Yazidi people, who were targets of an attempted genocide by ISIS. The Yazidis are one of the oldest, most persecuted groups in Iraq.

This documentary explores their story, their unique faith, and their persecution by ISIS. (Please note: Some of the stories in this video may be distressing to some viewers.)

You’ve been with us in Sinjar, helping the Yazidi people rebuild their lives. (You’ll see some of our footage in the ABC video below.) You’ve helped provide sustainable sources of food and medical care for returning families. You’ve also helped Yazidi families who have yet to return—like our soapmaker friends who lost everything when they fled their homes, but now are running their own businesses and providing for their families. Most importantly, you’ve made sure the Yazidis are not forgotten.

Yazidis have long been persecuted, marginalized, and misunderstood. Their story needs to be told.
